Joke Bruijs Tribute met Frits Landesbergen & Friends
A musical tribute evening in memory of singer and comedian Joke Bruijs, led by her musical life partner Frits Landesbergen, together with young vocalists who revive her repertoire and warmth.
Joke was loved by all Rotterdammers, and especially by the residents of South Rotterdam, where she was born (1952) and raised. Everyone in the world of music, film, and theater praised her warm, cordial personality, with a laugh instantly recognizable, and someone who maintained close ties with many colleagues. This was also true with Theater Walhalla. She enjoyed visiting, and certainly in Walhalla's early days from 2008 onwards, she managed to increase Theater Walhalla's popularity by performing there frequently.
Joke is missed, and that is why we are organizing a Tribute to her led by her musical life partner Frits Landesbergen. Frits is bringing along a number of renowned (jazz) musicians, plus several young, talented vocalists, with whom he wants to show that Joke was not only a great actress and comedienne, but for now, one of the best jazz singers in the Netherlands.
