Jamila & The Other Heroes - Psychedelic Desert Funk

JAMILA & THE OTHER HEROES is a Berlin-based band composed of musicians from all over the world, playing Psychedelic Desert Funk to make you fly. The energetic Jamila Al-Yousef leads the band. Born in Berlin on the day the wall fell and raised by her influential Palestinian refugee father, Jamila composes music with her Heroes to connect with transcultural audiences who can relate to the band’s diaspora stories and their musical fight against racism. “As people with families in Syria, Palestine, Italy and Colombia, we travel and create home within our music.”

Jamila's emancipatory message in Arabic and English is supported by powerful live musicians. Let yourself be carried away by an unparalleled sound of psychedelic guitar riffs (Leon Hast), vibrating on a warm and earthy base of wavy bass lines (Felix 'Fema' Barth), Arabic percussion sounds (Salam Alhassan) and drum beats with influences from Afrobeat, Hip Hop and Rock (Pier Ciaccio).
