SAAZ AUR AWAAZ — Instrument & Voice During this special concert, Saaz — the instrument — and Awaaz — the human voice — meet in the world of Indian classical music. Indian musicians Partha Bose (sitar) and Esha Bandyopadhyay (vocals) are on tour and will be accompanied during this concert by Dutch tabla player Heiko Dijker. Partha Bose brings the rich tradition of the sitar to life with virtuosity, sensitivity, and a strong sense of melody. His playing moves from quiet, meditative moments to sparkling and rousing improvisations. With her voice, Esha Bandyopadhyay takes the audience into the expressive world of the Indian raga, in which emotion, poetry, and centuries-old musical traditions come together. Heiko Dijker connects sitar and voice with the refined rhythmic language of the tabla. This creates a living musical dialogue in which melody and rhythm, tradition and improvisation constantly influence each other.
