Ruha Benjamin will talk about her latest book Imagination: A Manifesto, in which she positions imagination as an essential weapon in the fight for social justice. An urgent and inspiring talk about technology, inequality and the power of future thinking.
Renowned sociologist and professor at Princeton University, Ruha Benjamin, will give a lecture on her latest work Imagination: A Manifesto . In it, she explores how imagination can be used as a radical tool against inequality, racism, and oppressive systems. She shows how technologies such as algorithms and AI are not neutral, but can both reinforce oppression and support liberation. Benjamin offers a poetic and practical view of worldbuilding and calls for collective rethinking of how societies are formed. This lecture is an invitation to actively think about your role in maintaining or transforming existing structures.
