Since their formation in 2016, British duo IDER have proven themselves as master storytellers of sharp, emotional stories wrapped in folk harmonies and surprising pop. They draw on a unique blend of British new wave, euphoric electro-pop and floating alt-rock in the spirit of Mazzy Star. The result is a sound that is as cinematic as the stories they tell. Their acclaimed 2019 debut Emotional Education set the bar high, but their latest album Late to the World takes their sound to a new level. Taking an approach of “powerful minimalism,” the track is both grand in scale and deliberately understated, delicately contrasting lush electronica and devastating indie rock.
