Human Rights Dialogue: Close to Home
Human rights sound abstract, but they influence your daily life in Rotterdam. Think of the right to family, a safe home, and belonging. Discover how international human rights take concrete form in your city and how you can contribute.
Take steps together in human rights
Do you sometimes feel powerless due to events in the world? Do you want to understand what human rights mean for your neighborhood, street, and life in Rotterdam? This dialogue session helps you discover your influence, which is greater than you think. Together, we explore your level of self-reliance and the privileges you possess. Learn how to use these privileges meaningfully for change. You will share your concerns about human rights, learn from others, and turn conversations into concrete actions. Reflect together on what you can do close to home for a better world.
Human rights belong to everyone
Human rights are not just for lawyers and policymakers; they belong to everyone. You can truly make a difference on human rights issues. The session combines collective reflection and dialogue with practical exercises. This way, you discover your personal contribution. Savannah Koomen and Carlijn Vervoort will facilitate this session. Both work at Je Goed Recht, a Rotterdam-based foundation that provides free legal assistance to people in need.
