Howrah + Polarized
ffo: Space Siren, Katzwijm studios, dutch underground.
Deeply rooted in the Dutch underground, HOWRAH carries with them a rich musical heritage from bands like Zoppo, The Howl Ensemble, seesaw and Space Siren. Their unique, haunting blend of noise rock, post-punk and alternative is often dark and gloomy, but always leaves room for rays of light to unexpectedly break through. From the start, their goal is clear: to create music that is both deeply melancholic and surprisingly comforting, driven by tight bass lines, precise drums, dissonant guitars and emotionally charged vocals.
At the end of November 2024, the four-piece released their third album, Ends and Means. Although the sound remains unmistakably their own, it is clear that the band has grown since their previous record, Bliss (2021). The new album sounds more coherent and fuller, without losing any of its rawness. The songs are longer, heavier and more intense, and show how HOWRAH impressively combines growth with staying true to their roots.
