Hockney, I love View

When the Dutch painter Pieter Athmer discovered that Hockney was going to live in Normandy, his great inspiration was suddenly close by. He decided to create a special painting through which he hoped to meet the man who changed the way he looked at his life. His good friend, director Gerardjan Rijnders, immediately saw a documentary in it and together they left with that surprise on a road trip from Amsterdam to Hockney in Normandy. David Hockney (86) is both the best known and most popular living painter of our time. There is never a moment that goes by when there isn't a major exhibition of his work somewhere in the world. His 1972 painting Portrait of an Artist sold for $90 million in 2018. Not only is he a highly successful artist, he is also an innovator in perspective in both photography and painting. And he is the discoverer of secrets and lost knowledge of the old masters, causing a stir in the art world.
