Het ligt aan waar je staat

Rotterdam: in the name of progress the city became large and prosperous, but in the name of that same progress a lot has also been lost. Why are certain choices made? And for whom? Who owns a city? What do the different voices of the city sound like?

Together with multi-instrumentalists Keimpe de Jong and Bruno Ferro Xavier da Silva, city poet Elfie Tromp provides a poetic, musical reflection for and about Rotterdam. A declaration of love and a pamphlet in one, about a city that is more than made of stone.

Elfie Tromp is a writer, theater maker, performer and this year city poet of Rotterdam. Her work is outspoken, committed, humorous and stimulating.

Keimpe de Jong plays numerous other instruments in addition to the saxophone. He is also a composer and theater maker and responsible for countless productions. He writes music for performances by John Buijsman, Theater Hofplein, Jeugdtheater Maas and Artemis, among others.

Bruno Ferro Xavier da Silva is a musician and visual artist from Rotterdam. He is devoted to his bass guitar and uses it in combination with bow, samples and electronic effects.
