Heerenhuyskamerconcert - The New West

New to bluegrass, but certainly not new to music, are the members of the brand new Rotterdam bluegrass formation The New West.

The band is rapidly gaining fame both inside and outside Rotterdam! Traditional instruments such as banjo and mandolin were mastered by the five musicians within a period of a few months. They present this musical growth spurt with “a rock-hard banjo, fantastic fiddle, groundbreaking bass work, masterful mandolin and screeching guitar”.

The band consists of well-attuned friends who studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory at the same time and have been sharing the stage in various formations for over ten years. All five of them can boast an extremely varied musical career, and they bring that experience to the stage. They have worked individually with Douwe Bob, Tim Knol, the Bluegrass Boogiemen, Corrie van Binsbergen and Frédérique Spigt.
