Protest punk band returns with new work
Hang Youth expertly balances between being a deadly serious punk band, an out-of-control comedic art project and an angry tweet in all caps. The Amsterdam group takes their social involvement very seriously and does not shy away from expressing their anarchist views. In each of their extremely short, radical and extremely angry pop-punk bangers they take on the government, social control and the mega-corporations of this world. Fast and loud trashing and raging seems to be in the DNA of this quartet.
In 2020, the Amsterdammers released the albums 'BOEL ON DE HAND' and 'ALLES MOEET BETER', followed by 'HET K-WOORD' in 2021. With these releases they managed to disrupt several prime-time television and radio performances, as well as performances at Lowlands and Pinkpop, and they even started an illegal occupation of the Zuidas. On March 17, 2023 they released the EP 'ARE YOU AFRAID?' out. However, capitalism has still not fallen, so these free spirits feel compelled to tour the Netherlands again.
