A new American revolution
In 2026, the United States celebrates 250 years of independence. That is also the starting point of the 9th solo show by Dutch-American comedian Greg Shapiro. With Donald Trump in power, it feels as if 250 years have passed. Shapiro poses the question: is this the moment for a new revolution? He takes a surprisingly positive stance on the situation in America, but also strikes a sharp undertone. For instance, he refers to Trump as 'Daddy', while Europe, through Ursula von der Leyen, says: 'Mommy is angry'. The show combines stand-up comedy and storytelling, with a touch of Trump-inspired improvisation. The show is performed in English, with occasional Dutch.

Greg Shapiro has been associated with Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam since 1994. He hosted 'Comedy Central News' on Comedy Central Netherlands and has appeared on BNR, BNN-VARA, VPRO, and ZDF. A wide audience knows him as the voice of Trump in the viral video 'The Netherlands Second', which has been viewed more than 50 million times.
