Girls to the Front

Girls To The Front is an Utrecht platform that makes room for female and queer artists from the punk and art scene. Early March a compilation album full of raw energy and urgency was released, featuring 14 striking female-fronted bands from the Netherlands. Tonight in Rotown we celebrate that release with performances by Chattermag, Limerent and Waterschade.

The Hague-based Chattermag delivers uncompromising, eccentric punk rock—infused with heavy riffs and an unmistakable, confrontational attitude. Frontwoman Kate Oram doesn’t sing to be liked—she rips her throat open to be heard. This isn’t background music, this is a head-on collision. But they bring more than just brute force. Their songs are surprisingly layered, with clever twists in structure and dynamics. A fresh whirlwind of power chords, infectious hooks, and raw urgency—rebellious, unpolished, and damn infectious.
