Film & Talk: Playtime van Jacques Tati
Share your thoughts and discover with us how architecture shapes our daily lives!
On the occasion of the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam 2026, Alliance Française Rotterdam invites you on Thursday, October 8, for a film screening and post-film discussion. The evening will be guided by our teacher Joe, who has chosen to screen Playtime by Jacques Tati (1967), an iconic film that explores the relationship between people and architecture in an increasingly modern world. With his humorous and unique visual style, Tati sketches a world in which modern architecture influences people's behaviour and interactions, and even the way we move and live together. An image that has parallels with many issues of our contemporary world... and invites conversation! After the film, it is time to talk together: share your thoughts and discover with us how architecture shapes our daily lives. Everyone is welcome! The film will be shown in French, with English subtitles.
