Fêu Compagnie Massala / Fouad Boussouf (MA/FR) MA/FR

In Fêu, ten women, driven by an inner energy, immerse themselves in a hypnotic, tumultuous and radiant dance. As equal partners without a leader, they form a circle without beginning or end; its center is unoccupied and beckons to our imagination.

Five years after Näss (les gens) , performed on April 4 in TR, Fouad Boussouf's latest creation builds on and responds to that captivating work, which featured an all-male ensemble fueled by a primal, communal energy. As artistic director of Le Phare, Le Havre's National Choreography Center (CCN), Boussouf delves into the essence of spontaneous movement, evoking ancient times when the earliest dances were born and people sought to harness the elements. Like the continuous circle dance of these female artists, this 'fire' never ends.

We open this edition of Curious? with this loving group work. A group of women of diverse origins and skills keep the fire burning and pass on the message; we come from different backgrounds, ages and experiences, and we do this together, sharing humanity and empathy with the audience.
