Festival TREK
The Netherlands' largest traveling festival, supported by a national media campaign, traditionally kicks off the Dutch food festival season in Rotterdam.
During the festival months, the Netherlands' most beautiful city parks are transformed into an open-air restaurant with (live) music, entertainment, theater, and (cabaret) art. This is done through the registration of talent from the city and region, and in collaboration with cultural institutions and talent clubs.
This free family festival appeals to a wide audience thanks to its open atmosphere, offering food from all over the world, variety of entertainment and music (60s, 70s, as well as jazz, blues, R&B, and disco), and entertainment for all ages. The festival opens with families of all generations and concludes with various small (dance) parties on the grounds; hence, it attracts an average of 10,000 visitors per day.
