Federico Albanese, the Italian pianist, composer and producer returns to LantarenVenster with his new album Blackbirds And The Sun Of October. Albanese carries his musical diversity as a natural gift. His airy, cinematic compositions blend classical music, electronics and psychedelics.

Federico's fifth album was written and recorded entirely in Monferrato, the northern Italian region where he grew up. "It's an album about homecoming and heritage," says Albanese, who felt the need to return to his roots after years in Berlin. "Autumn in Monferrato has a unique beauty – this place breathes history."

Federico captures the nature, colours and legends of the region in a rich mix of classical and contemporary sounds. From the tranquil beauty of A Story Yet To Be Told to the dynamic title track, each piece reflects the freedom and inspiration he found there.
