Expo Herfst/Winter bij Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum: Fine art fotografie van Brenda Vonk Noordegraaf en Dennis Duinker

In the entrance hall of Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum, Brenda’s colourful botanical artworks from the Still Life series are on display. These are inspired by the 17th-century Vanitasstilleven. Symbols of transience from painting have been translated into photography here. The symbolism and use of colour in the photos form an ode to painting and nature. In addition, two new black-and-white works from the New Beginnings series can be seen: Cherry Blossom and Tulips. The series is about change as part of life: every new beginning arises from what preceded it. In garden restaurant Flora, Dennis presents his new series Botanisch Rotterdam. With a shallow depth of field, he weaves Rotterdamse architecture and botanical elements into colourful, almost painterly compositions. Abstract forms of flowers, grasses and plants enclose the architectural structures and together form a visual investigation into the relationship between nature and the built environment. What is special is that the images were created exclusively through photography and in existing situations. Therefore, no manipulation or image editing has been applied. Please note: Flora is only open on weekends.
