Enrico Pieranunzi, Bert Joris & West Coast Big Band

Enrico Pieranunzi and Bert Joris, two of Europe's most creative jazz musicians, seek in their collaboration the space to do what they excel in: not impressing with muscle jazz, but touching with synergetic interplay. Their music is lyrical, warm and layered. Complex, without being inaccessible and knows how to captivate a broad audience.

Both top soloists (Pieranunzi from Rome, 1949; Joris from Antwerp, 1957) worked with greats such as Clark Terry, Chet Baker, Charlie Haden, Joshua Redman, Philip Catherine and Hank Jones. Their oeuvre was awarded with various prizes.

Together with the West Coast Big Band led by Nils van Haften, they perform their own compositions. This close-knit band has been playing at the top level for years and has previously accompanied national and international greats. With successful CD projects (New Dutch, All Dutch, More Dutch) and prizes at the International Bigband Festival Hoofddorp, the band has built up a solid reputation. They have performed in sold-out and previously performed in LantarenVenster with a Herbolzheimer Tribute.
