Electric Umbrella #34: Territorial Gobbing UK), Zheng Hao (UK) & Lawrence McGuire (Rdam

Let yourself be carried away by an evening full of experimental sounds and surprising improvisations. Three idiosyncratic artists create a unique experience that will make you laugh and broaden your perspective on music.

Discover experimental sounds

Let yourself be carried away by an evening full of experimental sounds and surprising improvisations. These artists can make you laugh and broaden your view of music. They are eccentric, technical, funny and productive in their field; inspiration guaranteed. Expect a mix of 'trash perceptualism', sensitive dadaism, ordinary surrealism, structural intuitionism, materialistic simulationism and seriously unserious music. A special opportunity to broaden your listening experience. After their solo sets, they will improvise as a trio for the first time.

Meet the artists

Territorial Gobbing is an experimental performer and improviser in the post-fluxus style. He creates emotional, process-driven absurd music and 'noise-poetry' with tape, voice, bell and whistles. Zheng Hao, born in Wuhan and living in London, uses electronics for solo and group improvisation and sometimes also makes computer dance music. He loves both raw textures and delicate, amorphous qualities in sound and space. Lawrence McGuire, living in Rotterdam, works with the presence of voice in text, symbol and sound. His work includes text-sound, text-print and text-image, and always results in work that is spoken by himself or others. He collaborates with sound poets, voice researchers, playwrights and musicians. This event is curated by Ege Sahin.
