Sumayya Vally, founder of architecture firm Counterspace, explores the relationship between architecture and culture, with a particular focus on decolonisation and the reinterpretation of traditions. In a conversation with Aric Chen, general and artistic director of Het Nieuwe Instituut, Vally shares her views on architecture, rituals and myths. She is the youngest architect ever to be asked to design the Serpentine Pavilion and was named Emerging Architect of the Year 2023 by Dezeen. The evening is part of the series An Evening With, in which designers and artists share their practices and visions for the future.
