Een avond met Be Romy
Be Romy, an experienced theatre maker and spoken-word artist, presents his performance 35+. Luxor Theater and George Visser Productions are guiding Be Romy to take his work from a local to a national stage. This is to stimulate new makers in the theatre landscape.
About Be Romy
Be Romy is a Rotterdam-based theatre maker, performer and spoken word artist. He developed the genre Stand-Up Poetry, a mix of comedy, linguistic precision, rhythm and theatre. Het Nieuwe Luxor Theater is supporting Be Romy in his development from local fame to a national theatre tour.
The performance: 35+
In his solo performance 35+, Be Romy breaks the taboo surrounding male infertility. He shares his personal story about childlessness, doubts and the expectations from his environment. Be Romy combines theatre, spoken word, storytelling and humour. The performance is not a lament, but a quest for self-acceptance. Author Joost Kadijk provides the opening act, followed by a Q&A with Be Romy.
