(Een) Anarchief

In 2024, Little Red Riding Hood will start building (their) archive, which will be open to visitors from May. The anarchy of Little Red Riding Hood consists of archive documents that emerge from the Happenings organized by the residents of the Hamburger Community. Beginning anarchiving means breaking away from the archive as we know it, refusing traditional forms of archiving and proposing to explore the ways in which the full sensory experience of lived life can be included. We want to pay attention to the silences left behind in conventional archiving practices and make room for reciprocity in collective memory and meaning. Our archive will be subjective, polyvocal and unevenly formed.

Little Red Riding Hood's Anarchy aims to collect moments, processes and affective forces in the Happenings to create stories about what happened in a way that can inspire possible action in the future. Artists are invited to translate the spirit of the Happenings into archival pieces; artworks that suggest new beginnings, relationships and ways of being. In May and June you can view the anarchival traces of PASTE, the first Happening this year, organized by Hogus Bogus Publishing and the residents of the Hamburger Community Tisa World, MC Julie Yu, Julia Wilhelm, Rumpelstiltskin and Irene Cassarini. We collaborated with artist and designer Iris Velzen to develop the visual language and corporate identity of this archive.
