Diederik van Vleuten and Lucas van Merwijk were paired by Jeroen van Merwijk as the band for the radio program Podium, where virtually the entire Dutch music and cabaret world passed in review. From Acda en de Munnik to Liesbeth List and Youp van 't Hek. Now, thirty years later, celebrated theater and television producer Diederik van Vleuten and top drummer Lucas van Merwijk are back on stage together.
When Herman Finkers wanted to record an album for the terminally ill Jeroen in 2022, the original band reunited: Lucas van Merwijk, guitarist Ed Verhoeff, and bassist Boudewijn Lucas. Under the name Kaaskop, they perform idiosyncratic versions of Dutch musical heritage. Now they are adding Diederik van Vleuten to the group.
Van Vleuten guides you through personal stories, absurd anecdotes, and histories. What exactly are they playing? That remains a well-kept secret for now. One thing is certain: without a musical tribute to brother Jeroen, this performance would not be complete.
