'Food and animals, eating and being eaten!' For visitors with dementia and their loved ones, the museum organizes a dementia-friendly guided tour. During the tour, you will be introduced to various pieces from our collection based on the themes: food and animals.

All animals eat! So do we! Just like the animals we meet during the tour, we eat all kinds of things, and not always the same thing. Sometimes animals are eaten themselves, including by us. Because we take our time with each collection item and move from the item to an accessible story, the structure of the tour is pleasant and relaxed. There is room for personal input, and the tour guide knows how to use the right tools to engage participants with the museum. Together with a trained tour guide, you will explore the museum, stories will be shared, and memories will be recalled using (tactile) objects. After the tour, we will take a seat in the Salon to chat and reflect on what was covered during the tour. We do this while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea and a treat. Good to know: During the tour, it is possible to bring a folding stool; these are lightweight and easy to carry. This tour is in Dutch. Who is it for? For visitors with dementia and their loved ones and/or caregivers of all ages.
