De Poezieboys - Poezienight
within the framework of the Week of the Dutch Language
"Speak up for poetry!" This is how the Poezieboys open their poetry evenings in steaming halls filled with cheering audiences clapping and cheering for poetry. The Poezieboys believe the world could use a bit more poetry, and that message seems to be getting through. They bring their unbridled enthusiasm for this beautiful art form to festivals and theaters throughout the Netherlands and Flanders.
In October, the Poezieboys will descend upon Metro Walhalla for a Poezienight, as part of the Week of the Dutch Language. Established and emerging poets will join forces to create an evening where experimentation is not shied away from. In an accessible and theatrical manner, the Poezieboys bring poetry to life. The first names have been announced: poets Maud Vanhauwaert and Roan Kasanmonadi.
The Week of Dutch is an initiative of the Flemish-Dutch house deBuren and the Taalunie. Together with many partners, they annually draw attention to the beauty and versatility of the Dutch language.
