De Nieuwe Ploeg - De opvolgers
De Ploeg has a reputation when it comes to shows about families: the crazy Van der Ploeg family, the mafia family Calderone, the troubled family from Festen; family stories are an inexhaustible source of both heartbreaking drama and maddening hilarity. Satirical cabaret, if you will.
Now that the original members of De Ploeg are approaching retirement (or in some cases are already enjoying it) it is time to think about the succession. This results in a bloody family drama with the central question: who is going to take over the father's company?
In passing, you witness the birth of De Nieuwe Ploeg.
To really raise the tension to unhealthy heights, a brother/sister appears whose existence no one knew about. This calls for a DNA test, which is also done, but the result surprises everyone.
The popularity of online series such as Succession, The Bear and Midsummer Night prove that family stories still manage to touch the hearts of viewers.
From a mix of tradition, current inspiration and their own family stories, De Nieuwe Ploeg will create what they consider to be the ultimate family performance, in which the boundaries of decency will be continually challenged.
Played and conceived by Titus Tiel Groenestege, Viggo Waas, Vincent Croiset, Maartje van de Wetering, Birgit Schuurman and a varying guest actor.
