Want to learn more about the Roof Park? Join a (free) tour on Saturday, August 30th.
The guides can tell you a lot about how the Dakpark came into being, what there is to see in the park, how it's maintained, and even how you can participate. There's plenty to do in every season.
The many stories of the Roof Park
The Dakpark is a unique park, both in the Netherlands and abroad. This is due, of course, to its size and location, above big-box stores and a parking garage. But also to the fact that this park is the result of an initiative by active residents. The Dakpark Foundation works with a group of volunteers and local residents to maintain the park's green spaces and manage the community garden. The plants, shrubs, and trees have been specially selected for this special location. The themed gardens, such as the Mediterranean garden, the herb beds, and the ornamental borders, each have their own unique atmosphere.
Enjoy the flowers, colors, and scents of summer. The walk starts at 12:30 PM and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The tour begins in the Community Garden, located at the entrance to the Roof Park at the intersection of Hudson Street and Catharina Beersmans Street.
