Chet Baker - Let's Get Lost 1988

The classic 1988 documentary Let's Get Lost is a fascinating portrait of legendary jazz trumpeter and style icon Chet Baker by photographer Bruce Weber. Using interviews, archive footage from the 1950s, music recordings and images of Baker's final years, Weber shows the appeal and many flaws of the trumpeter who was destroyed by his drug addiction. Four months after the end of the recordings, Chet Baker died after falling from an Amsterdam hotel window.

Let's Get Lost was well received in 1988 and won the Cinecritica Award at the Venice Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary in 1989. The documentary will be re-released and can be seen in 4K in Dutch cinemas from 17 October.
