Ceramics & Tea – Botanical Plates
Let nature inspire you and make your own unique clay plate with leaf prints from the botanical garden. No experience needed.
Under the guidance of ceramist Maaike Kalkhoven (STU Rotterdam), you will choose from various naturally colored clays. We begin with a short walk through the garden to collect beautiful fallen leaves. You can also experiment with imprints of leaves still attached to the plant. In this way, you literally incorporate the shapes and structures of the garden into your clay. This gives your dinner or breakfast plate a natural, botanical character. You can make a large or small plate, and naturally, you will take this new addition to your tableware home with you. This workshop takes place at long, communal tables so that you can easily chat with your neighbors. During the workshop, you will enjoy fresh herbal tea. After the workshop, all plates will be professionally glazed and fired. They will be ready three weeks after the workshop, and you can pick them up at the entrance building of Trompenburg.
