Cathedral, an evening with Arvo Pärt Scapino Ballet Rotterdam

With a combination of artistic disciplines, special design and an inventive movement language, Morau is one of the most prominent dance artists in the European theater world.

Cathedral shows a world in which life is controlled by digital techniques and in which we are increasingly losing each other. With the mystical music of Arvo Pärt as a heartbeat, Morau and the dancers search for what makes us human and what our relationship is with nature. Morau and his team of Spanish artists design a retro-futuristic stage design with life-size video projections. In this alienating world, Arvo Pärt's music offers an oasis of peace. An important part of the design are the theatrical costumes inspired by contemporary fashion. The encounter with a meter-high meteor on stage marks the mysterious beginning of this special dance performance.
