Living inside a Cardinals song feels like wandering through a grainy, monochrome dream—somewhere between gritty rock 'n' roll nostalgia and the green, rolling hills of Ireland's musical past.
Their shanty-like verses swell to grandly sprawling choruses, spinning dark love stories into tender, first-person confessions. Their sound is an eclectic, gothic fusion of shoegaze, pop, traditional Irish folk, rock and poetry-infused punk.
Clad in tracksuits, denim, leather, and oversized sunglasses, the five-piece look like they’ve stepped out of Warhol’s Factory—not the postcard-perfect streets of Kinsale. Yet their music combines the best of both worlds. Their acclaimed debut EP Cardinals was released in the summer of 2024—and made one thing crystal clear: this is more.
