Camera Buff 1979

Camera Buff (Amator) is an early work by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski, who enjoyed great success in the 1990s with La Double Vie de Véronique and his Trois Couleurs: Blue, Blanc en Rouge, a stunning trilogy about freedom, liberty and equality . In Camera Buff, Filip buys an 8mm film camera on the occasion of the birth of his child. Because it is the first camera in the city, Filip is declared official photographer by the communist party. An election that suddenly changes his modest and previously content life. With an introduction (in English) by political philosopher Jamie van der Klaauw.
