Djessy Swan is an artist from the Netherlands who takes you into her unique world with her music. As a vocalist, violinist, composer, lyricist and producer she always creates a cinematic and colorful atmosphere. Debut EP What Souls Are Made Of is released after she recorded it during her time at Berklee College of Music in recent years, an adventure in itself that has left its mark on the record. She worked with a team of people from all over the world, bringing together many musical backgrounds and stories.

These personal songs have the ability to leave Djessy Swan’s heart, enter yours and make it warmer. No matter where she draws her inspiration from, with influences from pop, classical, jazz and world music she has a wide palette of warm colours to surround you with. The music of her EP What Souls Are Made Of has a strong connection to the natural world, but also to our own human nature, and invites the listener to join her on a journey of growth, to become the most authentic version of themselves.

Her musical inspirations are contemporary artists such as Laura Mvula, Jacob Collier, Björk and Sufjan Stevens, but also composers such as Debussy and Piazzolla, who paint stories through their music.

She graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music and Cum Laude from Codarts University of the Arts, and has a background as a recording artist and session violinist. She has performed at venues such as North Sea Jazz, Het Concertgebouw, Palau de Les Arts, and has played and recorded with the Latin Grammy nominated tango ensemble OTRA, and has played in projects with Banda Magda, Becca Stevens and members of Snarky Puppy, among others.
