Baroeg On Tour @’t Haantje

Lomba Rock: Scream Tonight + Wasabi Toothpaste + Doctor Robert And The Pills

During the period that the new Baroeg building is being rebuilt, there will be numerous shows in and around Rotterdam under the name Baroeg On Tour. However, Lomba Rock stands alone, as this initiative originated from the Friends of Baroeg; a small-scale festival on the doorstep of Eterij Tapperij Café 't Haantje, an Olympic javelin throw away from Baroeg. Owner Willem, also a Friend of Baroeg, was also interested, so it was quickly decided last year. Five bands were called in to rock Lomba in an atmospheric way with good beer and more goodies. That was a great success, and the atmosphere was even better than the weather. So we will do it all over again in 2025. The whole event is not only intended for Baroeg people, but also for regulars of 't Haantje and other guitar-minded Lombardians. So don't expect grindcore or neurotic metal, because the approach is once again an accessible, friendly, colorful rock affair.

Scream Tonight

This band from Bergambacht brings a mountain of craftsmanship to a musically slippery slope. The five fans of Scream Tonight are rocking and their hearts beat to the beat of hard rock. They venture into hits by greats like AC/DC, Motörhead and Twisted Sister without any bells or whistles. Of course, that means singing along until your throat is fucked. Scream for me Lomba!

Wasabi Toothpaste

For fifteen years Wasabi Toothpaste has been playing the hits they themselves find gers. They are not trained in the leather and even less strict in the leather, because in terms of style the foursome meanders from rock & roll to pop, soul and more. That can go from The Doors to The Stones or from Editors to Arctic Monkeys, as well as from ZZ Top to Black Sabbath or from Lenny Kravitz to The Strokes. There is something beautiful for everyone, but if we all start screaming 'Una Paloma Blanca', we might also get George Baker on our plate.

Doctor Robert And The Pills

From Bodine to Purple Shade and from Ayreon to Plan Nine; Robert Soeterboek strings together bands and projects. His new friends formation Doctor Robert and The Pills comes together especially for Lomba Rock. The entire band consists of seasoned musicians who effortlessly sense each other as soon as a rock classic is started. Cheers to a connoisseur's party of recognition, as Ted Nugent sang fifty years ago: 'Just What The Doctor Ordered'.
