Together with Corrosion Of Conformity and Suicidal Tendencies, DRI is one of the main founders of crossover, by introducing metal into hardcore in the early 80s. The fact that all three bands followed their own path is also evident from the characteristic thrashcore style with which the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles have been doing well for decades; like a kind of Ramones of the crossover, you are always sure what is on the hard-boiled menu of the American foursome.
