During the Great Rotterdam Studio Weekend, Sanctuary Atelier opens the doors of its studio in Rotterdam in collaboration with visual artist Melissa Moria. This weekend offers you the chance to explore the creative spaces of artists throughout Rotterdam. You will be introduced to natural dyeing techniques and create your own cotton bandana with plants and flowers. Choose from various natural dyes and arrange them directly on the fabric to create a unique composition.

Make your own unique bandana

Your bandana is then tied and steamed, after which the plants release their pigments. This process creates unexpected colors, shapes, and prints on the fabric. Each result is unique, shaped by the chosen plants, your composition, and the variation of natural colors. No experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome. All necessary materials are provided. The activity lasts a maximum of 1 hour, depending on your own pace. You are welcome as long as materials and places are available.
