Ayça Akkın: “From Albania to Lebanon”

Born in the Mediterranean south of Anatolia, Ayça Akkın is the youngest daughter of a musical family with deep roots in Anatolian folk culture. Her musical journey started with traditional Anatolian folk music, but grew into a love for jazz, which inspired her to create unique arrangements. Her debut album Anatolian-Balkan Folk-Jazz was released in May 2023.

In this program Ayça presents a true Mesopotamian celebration. She offers listeners songs in seven different languages, ranging from Anatolian traditional folk music to Arabic classics, and from Albania to Azerbaijan, all arranged in jazz and fusion styles, resulting in a vibrant celebration of Mesopotamia.
