Andaluz “Reis langs de zijderoutes”

Andaluz stands for a unique concept in which different musical worlds meet.

It is originally an initiative of brothers Ruben and Rutger van Rompaey. Ruben made a name for himself as an artist of oriental (Turkish) drums and percussion and has already performed on various international stages, particularly in Asia. Rutger is known as a guitarist mainly for his playing style with Spanish influences and his unique playing on both electric and flamenco guitar.

The group released its debut album in late 2020 entitled: The

New Silk Road, with surprising, oriental-tinged compositions and melancholic melodies. These symbolize an imaginary journey along old and new silk routes. The album would eventually become a trilogy and contains musical contributions from various top musicians.

The live band guarantees a swinging repertoire

and has variable line-ups. Especially for this concert in an acoustic setting, we collaborate with renowned permanent guest musicians Wim Warman (piano) and Taco Nieuwenhuizen (bass), who have already earned their stripes as artists in a range of musical styles.

The repertoire is characterized by swinging compositions with oriental influences, where mystical atmospheres merge with modern sounds. Musical excursions to genres such as tango, jazz and flamenco are not avoided!
