Finalists of the Amsterdam Cabaret Festival
The 3 finalists of the Amsterdam Cabaret Festival (AKF) take the stage: the winner of the AKF Sonneveldprize, the winner of the AKF Audience Award, and the winner of the AKF Shaffy Cheque. After months of writing, performing, cutting, and starting over, following try-outs throughout the country and coaching by professional directors, they present programs that have grown into a personal statement. You see work that has matured: stories with a backbone, poetic discoveries, and a unique signature. From heartwarming to idiosyncratic, always personal.
About the Amsterdam Cabaret Festival
Since 1988, the Amsterdam Kleinkunst Festival has focused on new generations of cabaret artists and performing artists. The festival identifies and personally mentors talent, and offers space for experimentation. More so than The Hague's Cameretten Festival and the Leiden Cabaret Festival, the participants in Amsterdam explore the boundaries with theatre, musical theatre, and performance. Past participants have grown into leading names in Dutch cabaret and performing arts.
