A Bird from Paradise - Ladies Night

In A Bird from Paradise, a charming fifty-year-old Italian antique dealer, Amadeus, falls in love with Betty, a beautiful young Tunisian woman. Their relationship begins unexpectedly when Amadeus saves her life. As their love grows, the couple encounters a series of cultural and social obstacles. Betty’s family sees Amadeus as a potential wealthy son-in-law, while the local imam demands that he convert to Islam and be circumcised. Amadeus, who is attached to his Italian identity and personal beliefs, must make a difficult choice: conform to the expectations of Betty’s community or cling to his own values at the risk of losing her.

The beautifully shot and performed film touches on themes such as cultural clashes, tradition versus personal freedom and the limits of love.
