This year, the Turkish Folk Dancing Foundation is organizing the 19th Dutch Turkish Folk Dancing Championships.
The best dance group of the 19th edition is nominated by an expert jury from the International Dance Theatre in the Netherlands and by professional jury members from Belgium, Germany and Turkey.
The Dutch Turkish Folk Dance Championships have a great effect on improving the quality of Turkish dance in the Netherlands, both choreographically and technically. The competition challenges the dance groups to develop and get the best out of themselves. The national image and high status of the event within the dance world play a major role in this.
The power of dance shows its strong side here. Not only Turkish dancers participate in these championships, the groups consist of Dutch, Kurds, Azerbaijanis, Bosnians, Serbs, Germans and Belgians. In this way, the Dutch Championships Turkish Folk Dances provide a beautiful diversity.
During the championships there are also intermediate acts, such as Streetdance and Hip hop.
Numbers 1 to 3 will qualify for the finals of the 20th edition in 2026.
