to be means to resist what you are not

As long as I can remember people have been resisting terror, resisting the imprisonment of body and mind.

They are resisting by looking for mobility and movement, they resist by standing up and playing the instrument of the past.

They resist by telling stories and letting the future know what has happened. 

We will play songs, we will dance and we will tell the stories.
