Duo Mong - The Essence
Album release concert of Duo Mong
Dup Mong is on a mission to share the beauty of their Tatar heritage with the world. As Tatars living away from home, they recorded their debut album, "The Essence." Just like their name, "mong," reflects Tatar culture's core, their album showcases the best of Tatar classical music. It's a heartfelt journey through Tatar melodies, inviting listeners to experience the essence of their culture firsthand.
The duo, Yulia Gubaydullina and Aliya Iskhakova, embarked on their musical journey in 2012 as a chamber music ensemble at the prestigious Kazan State Conservatory. Their early years were marked by a deep dedication to classical European music, a passion that would later fuel their exploration of Tatar music.
In 2018, the duo made a significant transition, relocating to the Netherlands to further their musical education. This move was not just a change of scenery but a strategic step to bring the music of their homeland, Tatarstan, to the forefront of European culture.
