ALESSANDRO FONGARO HOSTS - AKA

This is the reflection that inspires and guides the whole research underneath the new work by AKA. Over the past few years we all lived a suspended and silent period, yet full of inner movements, and as a band we start our research right from the silence, approaching the concept of limit through physical gestures, dynamics and repetitions, working in territories bounded and defined in terms of composition, improvisation and expressivity. Timbric and rhythmic explorations are the perfect ground for a research that uses elements of free improvisation and integrates them inside compositional boundaries that are thought to be overcomed, eventually reaching new spaces whose name and geography are never set as such. The dialogue between gestures, repetition and silence gives shape to the musical matter but soon becomes the center of the research, its core substance.
