RDM Rotterdam - Onderzeebootloods (Submarine Wharf)

The Onderzeebootloods is a former submarine wharf of the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), Rotterdam’s most famous shipyard and can hosts events up to 5,000 visitors.

The Onderzeebootloods is a former submarine wharf of the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), Rotterdam’s most famous shipyard. This is where iconic ships for the Holland-America Line, such as the cruise ship ss Rotterdam, were once built. Today, schools, research institutes, and companies collaborate here on sustainable technological innovations.

Where submarines used to launch from the slipway, there is now space for events up to 5,000 visitors. The RDM Submarine Wharf has been renovated, but has retained its raw and industrial character. The spaces inside the wharf have a total surface area of approximately 4,280 m2 and come with a free parking lot behind the hall, modern facilities, and are completely flexible in terms of layout.

The RDM Campus is just beyond the Waalhaven harbour right in the heart of Rotterdams old port district near the village of Heijplaat. The quickest way to reach the RDM Campus site from Rotterdam city centre is to take the Aqualiner boat which sails from the Erasmus Bridge.
