Treasure hunt in Alexandrium: discover the world of lost packages

Uitagenda Rotterdam

Ordering a package without knowing what's inside. Exactly that is the experience at King Colis' pop-up in Alexandrium Shopping Center. 28 October to 2 November, there will be 10 tonnes of lost packages waiting for you that could contain anything. From designer clothes and watches to gadgets and beauty products.

Every year, millions of parcels ordered online go missing, often due to incorrect address details. Whereas in the past, after refunding the customer, these shipments were destroyed by default by logistics companies responsible for delivery. King Colis buys the parcels and sells them online and at special events in well-known shopping centres.

Unboxing

Visitors have 10 minutes to choose their packages, without opening them beforehand. Prices are determined by weight: standard packs cost €1.99 per 100 grams, premium packs €2.79 per 100 grams. According to CEO Killian Denis, the unpredictable nature of the shop is exactly what makes it so much fun: "Many visitors save their finds until home and make it a real unboxing moment."

King Colis is committed not only to surprises, but also to sustainability. Packages that would otherwise be destroyed are given a second life, contributing to a smaller ecological footprint.

As in September 2024, the pop-up can be found on the ground floor of the Alexandrium Shopping Centre, next to McDonald's. Opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 09:30 to 18:00, Friday to 21:00, Saturday 09:30 to 18:00 and Sunday from 12:00 to 18:00.
