Elite Sports Nutrition goes for world record attempt sled push at Central Station
Sports nutrition brand Elite Sports Nutrition temporarily ran the first ESN pop-up experience store at Rotterdam Central Station in September. On 3 and 4 October, the station hall will be the scene of a spectacular world record attempt: pushing a 152-kilogram sled push non-stop for 24 hours. With the event, the brand, together with ambassadors and local athletes, wants to draw attention to the importance of sufficient exercise.
On Friday 3 October at 1pm, the official starting signal will sound. From then on, the 152-kilogram sled will be pushed non-stop for 24 hours. The athletes work in groups on a tight schedule: one hour of pushing, one hour of rest, and then another hour of pushing. A total of 100 participants will take part in the world record attempt, including both local athletes from Rotterdam and participants from the rest of the Netherlands, as well as ambassadors such as Donny Roelvink and Evi de Niet.
Yaenty from Heesen
Rotterdam-based personal trainer Yaenty van Heesen is also taking part: ''I have it relatively easy, as it's my turn at the end of the morning on Saturday. There will also be athletes who have to push the sledge forward in the middle of the night. It is hard work: every push you feel burning in your muscles, and only by constantly supporting each other can you keep going. It is precisely this team spirit and fighting together for one goal that makes this event so inspiring."
During the record attempt, an official referee from the International World Records Organisation will be present to record the result.
