True Colours is a Rotterdam-based platform that creates a space for emerging artists to be heard, both literally and figuratively. We organize intimate listening sessions where music takes center stage, but dialogue and personal development are equally important.

In these sessions, artists share their work in Hostel ROOM, an open, safe environment where audiences and performers can truly engage in conversation. Our social contribution lies in strengthening Rotterdam's creative community. Many young artists seek spaces where they can express themselves without performance pressure or commercial expectations. True Colours offers that space: a place to be vulnerable, receive feedback, and grow in who you are as an artist and as a person. In this way, we contribute to a more inclusive, human arts climate in the city.

Our target audience consists of young, emerging musicians, singers, and producers from Rotterdam, aged 18 to 30, who are still developing their talents. We also engage Rotterdammers interested in new music and culture and who want to participate in the dialogue. What's innovative about True Colours is the emphasis on intimacy and exchange. Unlike traditional showcases, we're not just about performing, but about connecting. Each session invites conversation about themes such as identity, inspiration, and community. This makes our sessions more than just cultural events: they are moments of connection and growth.

Our approach is small-scale and personal. We work with a team of two founders who organize and facilitate the sessions together. From there, we aim to collaborate systematically with creative professionals, musicians, coaches, and program makers so that our community can grow sustainably, talent can continue to develop, and we ensure the creation of an attractive city.
