Taking back the streets 2026
An interactive evening about street harassment, boundaries, and the role of bystanders.
You know the feeling. Stares. Comments. Inconvenience on the street. And usually, nothing happens. Street harassment is not an isolated incident — it is a daily reality in Rotterdam, yet it is still too often ignored or normalized.
boundaries and responsibility
During Taking Back the Streets 2026, we go beyond talking. Where is your limit? Why don't bystanders intervene? And what do you do when you see it happening? Through a spoken word performance, a panel discussion with experts and people with lived experience, and interactive moments, we bring different perspectives together.
From everyday situations to broader systems — this program is about safety, boundaries, and responsibility. About what we have come to consider normal — and how we can break through that.
